INVITATION

Dear Mental Health Professionals and Trainees,

As the Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapies Association, we were founded in 2010 with the aim of contributing to the learning, qualified practice, and widespread dissemination of cognitive behavioral psychotherapies in our country. Since then, we have organized numerous trainings and events in service of this goal. In addition, in order to provide a scientific publication outlet for CBT-based research and publications in the academic field, we established the Journal of Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy and Research, the first and only peer-reviewed international scientific journal in the field of CBT published in our country, and have successfully brought it to its 13th year of publication. With the experience and expertise accumulated over the years, we have aimed for our association to serve as a platform where psychotherapists and researchers come together to support the development of scientific and evidence-based psychotherapies, guided by the principles of sharing and solidarity.

Our association became a full member of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT) in 2013, and its cognitive behavioral psychotherapy training program was accredited by EABCT in 2016. We have organized the Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapies Congress biennially in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024. In addition to these regular internationally attended congresses, our association successfully hosted the 53rd European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT) Congress in Turkey in 2023, under the theme CBT: Migration and Cultural Diversity.

We are now delighted to announce, in line with these goals, the 5th Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapies Congress, themed “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as an Umbrella Concept in Psychotherapy,” which will be held in Ankara between April 30 and May 3, 2026. Our congress, which will bring together national and international academics, trainers, therapists, and researchers who have made significant contributions to the field of CBT, aims to cover all current topics related to CBT.

Through workshops organized before and during the congress, participants will have the opportunity not only to follow current scientific developments but also to enhance their clinical skills. In addition to proposals for CBT-related panels, symposia, and courses that you would like to see included in the congress, we also welcome your poster and oral presentation submissions.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ankara and to your valuable contributions.
Wishing you healthy days ahead.

On behalf of the Congress Organizing Committee,
Chair: Prof. Dr. M. Hakan Türkçapar
